Hartland Township is located in the northeast quadrant of Livingston County. The township is traversed by Michigan Highway 59 and U.S. 23, which bring a substantial number of travelers through the community from neighboring Oakland and Genesee Counties. Hartland Township is known for its quaint eighteenth century burgs of Hartland and Parshallville. The historic Parshallville gristmill is a popular attraction. The estimated 2007 population of Hartland Township was 14,800 citizens. (SEMCOG February 2003 estimated population 13,178) Hartland Township hosts an annual autumn festival. It includes arts and crafts food booths, small vendors and they open their historical museum. The festival is held in October. Please contact the township hall for more information. |
