Putnam Township

 

Putnam Township is located within the southwest quadrant of Livingston County.  The topography of the township is gently rolling to hilly, with scattered small lakes.  The Pinckney State Recreation Area is located in Putnam Township and it hosts numerous recreational opportunities such as hiking, bridle and cross country ski trails, Putnam Township is also known for it's unusual community named Hell.

Putnam Township is also home to the annual Art in the Park day which is held in the Putnam Township Square located in the Village of Pinckney.  Hundreds of booths are put out for area artists and craftsman to show and see their work.  Live music, entertainment, and food are also big attractions for visitors to the park.

The 2007 estimated population was 6,024.
