Lutz County Park is opening August 22, 2008, 4-6 p.m. The celebration will include a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new 1 1/3 mile groomed trail system that was laid out by Mr. Lutz prior to this death. Guests have the opportunity to walk these dirt trails to view high-quality natural areas, scenic views, wildlife and its habitat. Opportunities are available to picnic and rest along the trail at one of the many picnic tables or park benches scattered throughout the park. Access is provided to three wetland areas including a pond and two forested wetlands. The trails are designed to minimize the disturbance to these areas and preserve habitat by utilizing existing paths and two-tracks wherever possible. Wildlife that has been seen frequently from the trails in the park include turkeys, deer, skunks, herons, cranes, frogs, voles, numerous species of birds of prey, and songbirds. Please plan on participating in this historic Livingston County event! |
